Six Thousand Doughnuts
The Children’s Book Review
“An energetic romp through a young boy’s comedic quest and a warmly told tale of youth and family…The black-and-white line drawings by Meaghan Tosi, the author’s daughter, are delightful, featuring images that employ the same humorous exaggeration and mock-serious tone that pervade the text.”

Publisher’s Synopsis: Why would anyone need six thousand doughnuts?
Big family…little house… Fifth-grader Abe Mitchell is fed up with sharing. All he wants is something to call his own. And he just might get it when he finds a loophole in the fine print of a doughnut shop coupon. Abe thinks it entitles him to a fresh-baked mountain of crullers, dunkers, and chocolate-frosteds. But cashing in means war with Marlene Paczki, the daughter of the doughnut shop owner and Abe’s new crush.

I am entering to share with the children at my local library. Recently the Scouts were selling donuts as a fundraiser so I bought 6 dozen to share with the library patrons who attended a live performance of A Christmas Carol at the library. I really recommend Shore Theatre Group’s presentation. Greg Oliver Bodine starred in the one-man, stage adaptation of Charles Dickens classic holiday tale.
Too many donut types …..too many favorites lol…..but I do love a good Boston cream ….or jelly ….or maple …..or strawberry frosted with sprinkles ………….: )

“What is your favorite kind of doughnut?” I like all kinds of donuts! How about those ones with candied icing? Or thick chocolate frosting? Or donuts that are all big and fluffy and have clear icing and that little pale circle around the middle? They’re all so good!
I enjoy lemon cream donuts. Each day I give of myself to others. I bring meals, treats, books, toys and help out many. I drive my grandsons home from school and read to them and then we ride bikes and play outside.
At the end of the blog tour, I will share what my favorite doughnut is. Hint: the answer can be found at the end of the book.
My two daughters love to read and would really enjoy this cute book. My favorite doughnut is Boston Cream. Something nice that I did lately is teaching my daughters how to cook.
