About the Author
Pamela L. Laskin is a Lecturer in the English Department and Director of The Poetry Outreach Center at City College, where she has taught composition and creative writing for over twenty-five years. Her published children’s books include A Wish Upon a Star (Magination Press); Historical Heroic Horses (McGrawHill); Music From the Heart (Bantam) and The Buried Treasure (McGrawHill). A memoir, My Life In Shoes, came out in 2011.
About the Illustrator
Kirsi Tuomanen Hill is a New Yorkbased art teacher and freelance artist. She enjoys working on a range of visual projects at once, both to inform her teaching and to keep herself experimenting. Kirsi has a special love for illustration and repeatedly returns to it as a primary interest. She holds a BA in Art History from Johns Hopkins University, a PostBac in Studio Art from MICA, and an MA in Art Education from Teachers College, Columbia University.
