About If You Were Me and Lived in … Greece
It’s never too early to start teaching children about the world around them. In If You Were Me and Lived in…Greece , early learners get a taste of what their life would be like if they lived in Greece while being introduced to the birthplace of democracy. This book is the latest installment of the educational series about the cultures of the world that speaks to young children about the topics that interest them, such as the foods people eat, the names of boys and girls, and the activities that children their age living in a foreign land are likely to engage in. This exciting visit to Greece also introduces the important concept of democracy to children and highlights some of the other cultural contributions that Greece has made to Western civilization. Basic information is offered in a playful way that won’t overwhelm children.
Praise
“As with the other books in this series, the facts presented along with Roman’s simplistic format are a great stepping off point for cultural dialogues ranging from traditions, western civilization, and home life in Greece to name a few. If You Were Me and Lived in Greece: A Child’s Introduction to Cultures Around the World is a great choice for elementary grade readers.”—The Children’s Book Review

I teach the kids about different cultures by buying books that tell about a lot of different countries and how they live and survive.
Since my grandchildren are part phillopino(SP) they are naturally introduced into it. I’m not sure how their parents deal with it and I try to be accepting of some of their cultures are. I’m sure as they get older things will come up.
I would LOVE this set so I can continue to teach my son and future kids about different cultures!
I celebrate different traditions and holidays with them and make my own books for my students.
Travel is important!
reading books are a good way to teach about different cultures when you can’t travel to them all
Well, we live in a very very rural area, not much diversity right here. so books and travel are the best ways to teach the kids.
I teach the young children in my life about different cultures through books, museums, and cultural events.
I don’t really teach

I think books are a great way to introduce kids to other cultures.
Through books, film and travel especially!
Reading books is one of the best way
My husband is Asian so he has taught our kids a lot about his culture and customs, but we also love learning about other cultures through books and documentaries.
Daughter & her husband teach the grandkids about every holiday as they come up as well as we read books & watch tv!
By reading to them, and encouraging them to have friends who are “different” than they are. I think it is important to take them to restaurants and cultural events that celebrate diversity as well.
We love to travel to different countries and experience the different cultures.
Travel is the best way to teach about different cultures but also reading and watching movies helps.
Congrats to our winners!
