Young Henrietta feels her life is being torn apart. Mama is severely ill, Father is away, and Piglet, her baby sister, was taken away by ¨evil¨ doctor Hardy´s wife. Not only this, but Henrietta’s older Brother, Robert, is already dead. Nanny Jane even seems to have disconnected from the family, and is obeying EVERYTHING Doctor Hardy says, I mean EVERYTHING.
Doctor Hardy suddenly sends Mama away to Helldon, a place where Doctor Chilvers will do experiments on his patients; such as experimental surgeries, scalding hot baths, and inserting tropical diseases. He is excited to finally have a female patient. Henrietta is super worried about her mother, and needs as much help as she can get to rescue her mother from her miseries.
The Secret of Nightingale Wood is such a great novel. It is filled with lovely descriptions that provide clear imagery. This book was EXCELLENT and I never wanted to put it down, and I believe Lucy Strange is a great Author. Follow this touching story and help Henrietta discover the mysteries of Nightingale Wood, because there may be something or somebody waiting for her and willing to help.

Lucy Strange worked as an actor, singer, and storyteller before becoming a secondary school English teacher. She lives in Kent, England. The Secret of Nightingale Wood is her first novel.
