What to expect: Global travels, adventures, building friendships
In Big Bad Bunty’s Boat Trip From Brazil, readers are introduced to Ava, a sporty young girl from Argentina who meets Bunty, an unconventional girl that dresses like an elf, in Brazil. Told in a clever rhyming pattern, this tale of international travel and adventure captivates from the very beginning.
Ava lives in Argentina and has always wanted to travel to Australia. Before setting off on that journey, she decides to visit neighboring Brazil first. That’s where she meets Bunty, a two-foot tall girl who dresses like an elf and has had a hard time with bullies at school. Bunty has decided to set sail in search of adventure.
“The kids at school are sometimes mean
and tease me for the way I look.
So I built a boat, and packed a bag,
and now I’m travelling to the Islands Cook.”
Bunty asks Ava to join her on this journey and promises that they will go to Australia. Ava agrees and the two set off on a funny and informative journey all around the globe. They meet interesting locals, visit prominent tourist sites and learn the traditions and customs of the countries they visit. Along the way, they also make a ton of friends that join them on their trip.
The informative journey is told in rhyme and with a very clever pattern. The illustrations are colorful and entertaining and depict scenes from the various countries the group visits.
This imaginative novel will appeal to young readers, ages 6-10, that enjoy poetry, learning about new cultures, making friends and finding adventures.

Learning different cultures brings a better upbringing to the child. They will value and respect each cultures despite the differences. Hence, this books comes handy especially with a travelling child to expose them what’s ahead in every country. For non traveling child, reading this also will equipped them with additional knowledge. A good approach for this book indeed!
