Pirate Mouse and Mummy have their treasure map and they’re super ready to start finding Atlantis and the lost treasure. However, nothing is ever smooth sailing, and this journey has some bumps along the way. First, a giant sea monster smashes their ship and leaves them stranded on a spooky island (but at least they still have the map—and plenty of mangoes). Then, a group of ruffian pirates turns up. They might just be Pirate Mouse and Mummy’s ticket off the island – if they can be quick and crafty enough. Luckily, they have each other to depend on!
Readers are encouraged to think on their feet and make the best of difficult situations—especially with the help of friends. Simple text and comic-book-style illustrations build literacy and interpretation skills for beginner readers. Best of all? The story ends on a cliffhanger, promising more books to come!

Jon Duncan is a dad who enjoys drawing pictures and making up stories to entertain his two kids and their friends. Growing up Jon loved comics and running around imagining himself in wild adventures. On a stormy weekend day with crayons and a lot of laughs, he brought to life a new adventure story for his kids that turned into the Pirate Mouse books. Outside of drawing and writing, Jon enjoys snowboarding, hiking, camping, dreaming about the ocean, and other landlocked adventures. He lives in Denver with his wife, two kids, and dog.
