Each year, there are hundreds of new picture books published for children. Among these hundreds of picture books, there are the good, the not-so-good, and, of course, the terrible-horrible-no-good-very-bad. There’s no point wasting anyone’s time on the latter, so, without further ado, here are The Children’s Book Review’s selections for the top ten picture books of 2010. Each of these books showcase first-class text and exceptional illustrations …

Thanks Bianca, I agree that The Quiet Book is on the top of the list for sure! One that I didn’t see on there was The Thanksgiving Coat by Elizabeth A. Hoadley, who had her 5-year old daughter illustrate all of the pictures. It’s a great holiday, feel-good book about giving to and helping others. One of my favorites of the year!
Very helpful list. These are fantastic books. One of my 2010 favorites, which didn’t make your top ten, City Dog Country Frog: http://www.childrensbookbrowser.com/?p=896.
Yes, it’s a great book!
