Have you ever wondered if narwhals have blowholes? Neither had I until the curious query came up at a creative meeting at the toy company where I work. I won’t spoil the ending, but I will reveal that it is a rhyming picture book about two yetis who set out on a journey to answer the title question. On the way they ride a sled, tussle with polar bears and get chased by lemmings!
Do Narwhals Have Blowholes? is an outlandish tale that challenges the imagination and vocabulary of children. The subject matter is refreshingly obscure, introducing children (and many adults) to the mythological yeti and the majestic narwhal, one of nature’s strangest and most interesting creatures. The fantastic illustrations were created by talented artist, Matt Cory, using found fabrics to create a dynamic setting for the story.
