Link: I just learned, via Chicken Spaghetti, that director Wes Anderson is making an animated movie of Roald Dahl’s, Fantastic Mr. Fox (Release date: November 6, 2008). Better yet, the voice of Mr. Fox will be George Clooney, and Cate Blanchett will be Mrs. Fox. Other cast members include: Bill Murray and Anjelica Huston, who regularly feature in Wes Anderson films. Special note: Make sure you have your children read the book before seeing the movie. This way there will be lots to talk about – parents can encourage children to look for differences between the film and the book. I know that not all films manage to translate books in a quality way, but I have a good feeling about this one. It’s the perfect film to encourage reluctant readers to pick up a book!
