We have five cats right now–the mama cat was a street cat whom we adopted when she was pregnant, and we kept her four kittens, too, when they were born, three days after she came to stay with us. So the answer is an enthusiastic yes–we are cat lovers, and we are specifically street cat lovers, or rescue cat lovers.

When I was young we would travel every summer to Patrick Creek Lodge, near Yreka, CA. We loved our visits there, and came to know the owners very well, and their dog Kelly. So many happy memories of those trips. Years later when I made a quilt for my brother I chose backing fabric that reminded me of Patrick Creek Lodge.
These books sound like an exciting adventure.

Yosemite is another of my favorite places to visit. I’ve been there with my parents, my partner and our dog, and on school trips which might be the most memorable. Next year my best friend from childhood is celebrating her 60th birthday there. I wish I could meet her there, but I am restricted by Covid precautions. Still, I’m glad she’ll be revisiting one of our favorite places.
