What to Expect: Nature, philosophy, time, and positivity.
In this beautiful, timeless picturebook, science and philosophy merge to produce a thought-provoking exploration of the cycles and changes that shape our world, from the phases of the moon to the migrations of birds and the evolution of life in the primordial oceans
If there is one truth that never fades, it is that nothing is ever lost in this world. When the caterpillar ends, the butterfly begins. When the magic of winter ends, the fresh start of spring begins. The leaves that fall from the trees in autumn feed the earth to become the stuff spring saplings are made of. Where the land ends, the vast stretch of the ocean begins, wrapping around the globe until it ends up back at the shore again. The light that fades from the sun in the evening bounces back to us at night from the shining face of the moon. This universe is infinite and full of never-ending beauty.
Simple observations about time, space, and the natural world are interspersed with quotations from cultures and thinkers around the world, including Charles Darwin, Frieda Kahlo, John Steinbeck, and Jules Verne. The artwork fills each page spread with bold, saturated colors and stark lines and dots, creating a dreamlike atmosphere.
Infinity: The Magical Cycles of the Universe is a picture book that readers can return to again and again, always finding new inspiration and a sense of calm and wonder.
