Each year, the Academy of American Poets commissions a special poster for National Poetry Month and almost 200,000 copies are distributed for free.
April 1st marks the start of National Poetry Month. Since 1996 publishers, booksellers, literary organizations, libraries, schools, and poets come together during National Poetry Month to celebrate poetry in the US. To find out how you can participate during National Poetry Month take a look at poets.org.
We urge you to participate in the first ever Poem In Your Pocket Day on April 17th, where thousands of people will be carrying a poem in their pocket.
…The idea is simple: select a poem you love during National Poetry Month then carry it with you to share with co-workers, family, and friends on April 17…
