The Morris Island gang is back in Terminal, the fifth and final full installment of Kathy and Brendan Reichs’ NY Times Bestselling Virals series. In Terminal, the stakes are higher as Tory, Hi, Shelton and Ben encounter a vengeance seeking pack of teens also infected by the canine parvovirus. To add to the challenge, Tory, Hi, Shelton and Ben find themselves defending against another set of mysterious figures intent on violently discovering their Virals secrets. The action level for this final book is intense and at its peak for the series, as the Virals fight for their lives while trying to identify their assailants at the same time.
As with the previous books (Virals, Seizure, Code, and Exposure) Terminal delivers action, adventure, and suspense in a contemporary and relatable voice for readers. Throughout the series, character development is a prime asset and Terminal does a nice job of continuing the strong character development trajectory of the previous books. In addition, the Reichs’ provide satisfying resolution to many of the unanswered questions weaved through the previous books about the private lives and the future of the pack.
Terminal’s biggest attraction is as a novel that serves as a beacon for young adult readers interested in STEM who are looking for books with entertaining fictional characters of the same age and engaging plots to feed their interests. The Virals are humorous, resilient, and passionate, and cast a positive shadow on critical thinking and knowledge. In addition, the framework of the story offers a refreshing balance between entertainment, suspense, and intellect. Terminal is a terrific punctuation to the Virals series and the Reichs’ dynamic writing partnership delivers another thrilling read for young adult book fans of all ages.

About the Authors
Kathy Reichs is the author of seventeen New York Times bestselling novels featuring forensic anthropologist Temperance Brennan. Like her protagonist, Reichs is a forensic anthropologist—one of fewer than one hundred ever certified by the American Board of Forensic Anthropology. A professor in the department of anthropology at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, she is the former vice president of the American Academy of Forensic Sciences and serves on the National Police Services Advisory Council in Canada. Reichs’s own life, as much as her novels, is the basis for the TV show Bones, one of the longest-running series in the history of the Fox network.Learn more about Kathy at www.kathyreichs.com.
