Ages 3-5 | 46 Pages
Publisher: Playpen Publishing | ISBN-13: 978-1954529212
What to Expect: Inclusiveness, different families, togetherness
In Yes, We Are Together! authors Penny and Anna Thomas introduce children to the various ways in which people come together to form a family. Readers will discover that a family is a group of people who love each other. Not all families look the same—and they do not love based on race, gender, religious, physical, or cultural differences. The members who make up a family love each other unconditionally, just as they are.
Readers will be charmed by the repetition of the text and Bryant’s engaging and rich illustrations showing the various families—including blended and adopted. Seeing the diverse families interact in many different situations will highlight and provide plenty of opportunities to discuss what makes a family. Young children will appreciate the shadow words found on every other page, focusing on celebrating differences. Yes, We Are Together! truly explains what family is all about with its inclusive examples for young readers to experience.
A sweet book providing a cheerful dose of positivity, Yes, We Are Together! goes beyond the “traditional” family and encourages readers to honor all families.

HI. I purchased this book and felt like it was directly to the point regarding inclusion not only being important for your child but for a young age student. I think nowadays this is needed more than ever. ce
