What to Expect: Animals, fantasy, friendship, forgiveness, trust, and family.
Zodiata is a rich and magical animal fable filled with colorful characters, from wise old rabbits and sly dragons to vicious hogs, short-tempered owls, and even a surprisingly noble rat prince.
Tarwen is not like the other rabbits—where they are alert and focused; he is distracted, daydreamy, and playful, full of dreams and questions. Tarwen longs for the world beyond his hum-drum warren. Then, one day, a stranger arrives in the warren. Rattus is fleeing his colony, which has become violent and unruly under the rule of a terrible new king—but the rats won’t let him escape that easily, and when they attack to get him back, Tarwen is forced to flee alongside him.
Out in the wide world, Tarwen learns there is much more to fear than the rats—malevolent hogs threaten the world, and only Tarwen holds the key to stopping them. And even more terrifyingly, the Dragon King has summoned him. Perhaps the warren was not so dull after all!
The story takes place in an idyllic fantasy world untouched by humans and modernity. While exploring themes like death, hunger, and social strife, the narrative nevertheless contains uplifting messages about trust, family, friendship, and finding your place in the world. It is also a riveting adventure, full of action and surprises, with an underdog (rabbit) hero readers will surely love.
Zodatia is a fantasy fable with a classic feel, perfect for readers who love to escape into an adventure and leave the real world behind.
